St. Francis Area Schools is hosting a Community Curriculum Viewing at the St. Francis Learning Center (SFLC) in the areas of 9th-12th Math and K-5 Social Studies. Every nine years, new curriculum is purchased that has been researched and selected by district teachers in collaboration with our Curriculum and Instruction Department.
The Curriculum and Instruction Department invites residents within the SFAS boundaries to view proposed curriculum and provide written feedback and/or questions. There will not be a presentation, but teachers may be available to answer questions. Please visit Room B10 at the SFLC on one of the following dates and times to participate:
Monday, Feb. 9 from 5-6 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 23 from 5-6 p.m.

In an effort to select the best curriculum for SFAS students, teachers along with Curriculum and Instruction complete a two-year curriculum review which includes:
Year One
Analyze data
Research best practices
Set goals and priorities for the program/curricular area
Reviewing new legislation requirements
Year Two
Review curricular materials to support data, best practices, goals and priorities and standards
Pilot materials when applicable
Recommend purchases and receive feedback from the ACT Committee (Assessment, Curriculum & Teaching)
